What the site collects

Trademark Check has no accounts and nothing to sign up for, and we don’t sell anything about you. Updated October 16, 2026.

The search box

The site’s one form is the search box. The search runs on our server, so the name you type goes in the page’s address (trademarkcheck.ca/search?q=…, with the class if you pick one) and in the page’s title. That address stays in your browser’s history and reaches our host’s request logs. Google Analytics receives it too (below): the search page’s address and title, and the same address again as the page you came from when you open a result. So a name you search for reaches Google Analytics today. If you would rather keep a name you haven’t filed to yourself, block Google Analytics as below; the search works the same without it. Search results carry no ads.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies and receives your IP address, your browser, and the address and title of each page you view, which Google processes under its own privacy policy. You can block it with Google’s opt-out browser add-on or your browser’s privacy settings. The site works without it.

Advertising

The site may show ads from Google AdSense, labelled “Advertisement”, at the very end of a page, after the marks and the source line. Google picks the ads, not us. Advertisers have no say in any record or search result, and an ad for a trademark service is Google’s choice, not our recommendation. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s advertising cookies let it and its partners serve ads based on those visits. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google’s Ads Settings, and out of other vendors’ cookies at aboutads.info. How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel, whose servers log requests (including IP addresses and page addresses, a search’s among them) for security and operation.

The records

The marks are the Canadian Intellectual Property Office’s public register, under the Open Government Licence – Canada. An owner who is a person is shown as “an individual” and gets no page, and trademark agents are never named (About the data).
